About The Club

Its not too clear when exactly the club was formed, but it seems that it began life many years ago as Tockwith Lawn Tennis Club.

In March 1992 a commitee was fomed to prevent the courts from falling into disrepair and from going completely into disuse.

With only the princeley sum of £9 in the bank, the club began raising the £24,000 needed to lay an all weather surface. In May, an interim tarmac surface was laid and then in 1994 the all weather surface was completed.

At that point the club appeared to be referred to as the Tockwith Tennis & Netball club.

In 2003 the current committe was formed and the club became known as the Tockwith Tennis Club.
